Family-owned and operated since 1931, the Thunderbird started as a homestead for Jack & Fern Morrison with a gas station at the junction of Highway 89 and State Route 9 in Mt Carmel Junction, Utah. The Morrisons opened a café alongside the station in 1940, featuring Fern's home made pies. In the years since the business has stayed with the family, today featuring a gas station, restaurant, gift shop, two RV parks (east & north), a Best Western motel, and a 9-hole golf course. The resort is also a satellite location for East Zion Adventures, based just down the road near Zion National Park's east entrance.
