April Chamber Luncheon at Best Friends Roadhouse

An absolutely gorgeous spring day greeted attendees at the chamber’s April luncheon. Best Friends Roadhouse had the mercantile windows open to the sunshine and warm breezes as more than 40 members, visitors, and guests arrived.

The chamber’s monthly lunch gatherings are open to the public, free for members, and $10 for non-members. Thank you to Best Friend’s Angel Village Café, who provided a delicious lunch of vegetarian lasagna, corn on the cob, and ambrosia.

Julie Barger, Best Friends Director of Visitor Experience, opened the meeting with a overview of the Roadhouse’s past year, which included several statewide awards for excellence and record visitor numbers. Barger also noted that free tours of the Best Friends Sanctuary can now be scheduled from the Roadhouse.


Next, Arlyn Bradshaw, Best Friends Senior Advisor for Community Relations, spoke about the organization’s national programs, statewide lifesaving efforts, and community contributions, followed by Bart Battista, Senior Directory of Canyon Operations, describing the organization’s expanded RV park facilities and new dog lodges.


Judah Battista, Chief Sanctuary Officer, wrapped up the presentation by pointing out that although Best Friends is a national organization, Kanab is where its heart is. Good neighbors and local support make the city more than a location – they make it a home.
